Welcome!
We are the Saanich International Folkdancers Association, but you may call us SIFD.
Our purpose is to practice and teach international folk dancing as a social and fitness activity.
All levels of dancing are provided: beginners, intermediate and advanced. Come early for the easiest dances.
Many of the dances we teach do not require a partner -- the dancers form lines, or circles.
We dance (almost) every Friday, starting at 7 PM, and ending at 9 PM.
Occasionally, we dance on Saturday, instead of Friday.
See the where we dance link on the left of this page for dates & location.
Come and join us.
Bring soft-soled, tread-less shoes, to protect your knees/ankles and the dance-floor. Please "lug-a-mug".
Our social dance meets on Friday evenings -- indoors during the fall, winter, and spring, and outdoors, in Beacon Hill Park, from June through August.
Quarterly, we schedule additional dances on Saturday evenings, typically Spring, June, Hallowe'en, and Christmas.
Most years, we have a pre-New Year's Eve party, but we have it on December 30th -- not the 31st!
Please follow the links on the left for more information.
